Class Tributes

I would not have been to survive the rigor of the IB Diploma Program without the guidance and support of my friends. Although there is a multitude of people at BSGE that I wish to thank for these past four years, I am giving a tribute to my two best art friends. From every disaster to every success, there is no one else in the world I would have rather made art with in our treacherous years of high school.

For Nazrin Kashem (Naz, Nzz, Ford, Carl)

From the very first day of 9th grade, I knew that Naz and I were destined to be best friends. These four years have brought us, lack of a better term pain, but also stupid inside jokes and long conversations about who knows what, appreciation for the Marvel cast and things that happened long ago that I STILL laugh at. Naz is a wonderful CAS member, group partner, student, artist, and person all around. Her art is real, authentic, and passionate. She's one of the only people that can deal with my nonsense and my relentless singing. Yet, she's also one of the only people that really gets me. I love you Naz: you're a real one, and you're going to do great things. I'm always there for you bröther <3

For Thomas Asturias (Iron Man, Lil D)

Thomas was the first person I sat next to at the start of 9th grade, Algebra I, 8:00 am, Room 400. He's been making me laugh ever since. Sitting between him and Naz during 11th grade art gave me some of my favorite memories; "annoying Naz" and "Socrates mask" come right to mind. Thomas is caring, kind, funny, and an overall fantastic friend. His art speaks more to the abstraction of life - wavering lines, bold colors, and bright palettes reveal ideals of complex mindsets and the underlying creative process. You're the best, Iron Man. I'll miss singing (screaming) We Love the Earth at lunch, dropping chairs in music, using too much paint in art, and overall just making high school a more bearable experience.

"We love the Earth, it is our planetttttttt."
